CGM Resources from APhA
Empowering Patients to Take Control with CGM: The Role of the Pharmacist – A free series of three 30-minute continuing education eLearning programs focusing on the main factors that affect blood glucose and how pharmacists can help their patients utilize CGM and blood sugar logs to interpret and assess these effects to optimize glucose control over time. This program also includes three infographics for pharmacists to use for patient counseling and as a reference tool in practice. This program is free and can be shared with your members.
APhA has also developed a CGM training program, Clinical Implementation of CGM in the Community Pharmacy. This is a 12-hour program with 8 hours of self-study and 4 hours of live instruction. We have a virtual offering coming up on July 17 from 12-4pm ET and a train-the-trainer scheduled for immediately after. Please let me know if you’d like more information and I’m happy to have a quick call.
Lastly, APhA values the work you do to provide education and training for pharmacists in your state. As you’re applying for grants to support educating pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, we wanted to share a few paragraphs we’ve developed to include our education programs in grant applications. A copy of that can be found here
